Acne vulgaris is a skin problem common among youngsters; however, this skin problem also affects men and women of all ages. At the time of puberty, ones' sebaceous glands become more active resulting to secretion of more oil or sebum that, when in excess, causes blockage of the skin pores resulting to inflamed hair follicles. Dry skin, dead skin cells and dirt also contribute to the blockage of the skin pores and cause aggravation of acne condition.

1. Pound orange peel and mix with water to form paste. Apply paste on acne break-outs.
2. Apply lemon juice onto the affected area.
3. Use raw garlic. Intake of 2-3 seeds of raw garlic on a daily basis helps purify blood and prevents acne. Rubbing raw garlic on the affected area also helps hasten healing process.
4. Mix coriander leaf juice with any other mint leaf juice. Add a pinch of turmeric powder and mix to make paste and apply to the affected area.
5. A paste of fenugreek leaves may be applied on acne before retiring to bed at night. Wash off with warm water in the morning. This treats pimples effectively.
6. Apply grated cucumber to the affected area.
7. Boil blackberry, strawberry or raspberry leaves in 1.5 liters of water. Strain then apply the liquid to acne to hasten treatment effects.
8. Mix turmeric powder and neem leaves to make a paste. This is very helpful in treating different kinds of skin problems including acne.
9. Mix cinnamon powder and honey. Apply to affected area to get rid of acne and prevent it from redeveloping.
10. Mix sandalwood, black glam and water to make a paste. Apply and keep it on the face overnight. Rinse in the morning using cool water. This helps sooth inflammation and irritation due to acne.
11. Mix and make a paste of grounded almond and honey. Apply to the affected area and rinse off using cool water.
12. Egg yolk mask helps remove excess oil or sebum from the skin thus clearing skin pores.
13. A mixture of gram flour and un-boiled milk can be applied to the skin to eliminate acne.
14. Apply aloe vera to the affected area. This herbal plant yields positive results in treating acne.
15. The pulp of ripe tomatoes may be applied to the affected area.
16. Drink wheat grass juice daily to relieve acne symptoms.
